Prep and Installing Door Glass

Hi, welcome to prep and install door glass 101. We’re going to go ahead and jump right in here with Sam. The first thing you want to do is go ahead and cut your rubber to the approximate length or like sam did here you can leave it on a longer roll and then cut it off when you’ve got it on the glass remember to start in the middle on the bottom side of the glass bringing the narrow groove to the inside following the curve of the glass now go ahead and get your small rope or even speaker wire works well for this starting in the bottom middle again you need to feed it into the small groove make sure you leave about two inches hanging out at the start just like sam did here once you have it in the groove all the way around cut the rope or wire again making sure that you leave approximately two inches hanging out at this point sam and i are done and we’re going to go ahead and hand it over to andy good luck and thanks for watching okay we’ve installed the lever cannon here we’re using window cleaner here and about any cleaner ivory soap is good soapy water this here is just spray away glass clean what we’re using here okay this is ready to go in the door now and i’m going to put the door in here the rope to the inside half and half and lay that door in here like this here we’re going to start by positioning one corner and work on across here and we’re going to start out here with one rope i’ve got it in the corner pretty good and feel underneath here to see if the rubber started on the inside feels very good okay come on around okay here use one side of the rope go one direction only i’m kind of helping the rubber back on there and works the window down in here right around the corner here people coming on around with this here then you kind of help the window back over again it kind of moves around as you install it here you’re going to keep up with too much pressure to kind of help it down come on around the corner here with the rubber making sure it’s seating good very good it’s coming right in where we want it to come on around here coming up on the end of the rubber here and work it back the other way with the other piece of rope that’s left okay now we’ve got this basically installed at this point now what i’m doing here is i’m just fitting the rubber to make sure it feels good around the edge you can see where our seam has come together here sometimes you have to help a little bit to bring it together you can do that by simply moving it around okay i’m gonna move the door around this side here what i’m going to do here is just check to see if this inner seam is locked in we’re good around there this is complete at this point we need to wipe the glass down every door completed
