Thanks for clicking on the Previsible video in our series of Identifying Your Gas Pump. Now these are our Previsible pumps and this is where it all began. Previsible started in 1883 which is when they were invented and they used them up until about 1900. Just to give you a quick look at what these look like, this is an old Bennett Previsible right here. It has a hand crank handle on the back and of course the gas comes out of the front. This is not visible, this is not a piece of glass, it’s just a tank.
Now this is a Milwaukee, real similar. You have a selector right here: gallon, half gallon, quart and you have a handle to crank to dispense the gas which came out right here.
The one other thing I wanted to point out to you, the reason I have these loopsters over here is a lot of people think they find these, not with the tanks, but they find these and they think that they found a Previsible pump and they haven’t. So loopsters look very similar but they’re a lot smaller and it has a pipe that goes down underneath. So I just wanted to show you real quick what a loopster looks like so you don’t confuse it with a Previsible pump.
Now if you’re still having trouble identifying your pump and need further assistance, the easiest way is to snap a picture of it and upload it on our Facebook site which is at facebook.com slash gaspumpheaven and there’s no spaces in there.
