Lighted Signs – Changing Lights

Video Transcription

Hey guys, it’s Travis at gaspumpheaven.com. Out here in the warehouse today, I want to show you guys a really cool new product that we’re offering here at Gas Pump Heaven, and it’s these lighted curved signs. Now these curved signs are made out of plexiglass on the front, and then they have a real heavy steel back. These are made out of 18-gauge steel, just like all our reproduction stuff. And then the front, what’s really neat about this is this is a heavy plexiglass, about an eighth of an inch thick, and it’s internally printed. So if you have something out in the shop or garage where it’s going to get dirty, you can just spray it with a little bit of Windex, wipes right off, you don’t have to worry about scratching or ruining the print itself.

Now these signs stand about 32 inches tall, they’re 18 inches wide, and at the thickest point, they’re only 4 inches deep. And so it gives a really cool effect to all these different signs that we have printed up. The other thing is, is these come with a real long 6-foot cord and are real easy to hang.

The other thing I’m going to show you is how these things are put together and how you can easily change a bulb in them. So the first thing you want to do is, because these are plexiglass, there’s a little bit of flexibility to them. You never want to slide these things out because it will scratch the plexiglass. So what you do is just use the palm of your hands and you put a little bit of pressure on the edge and they’ll pop right out. When you set it aside, make sure you don’t lean it against the back because that’s where the print is. Those are going to be easy to scratch.

Now inside again, this is 18-gauge steel and this has a real heavy-duty coat of paint on it so it’s going to wear really well, even if you put it outside. Now the other thing is, these hang either sideways or you can hang them upright and then we have a light riveted right into the middle. I’m going to show you real quick how to change a light just in case one goes out on you. You want to get your finger into the edge of this plastic case and just give it a little bit of a pull and it’ll pop right up. Then it’s just like any other fluorescent light. You give it a little bit of twist, you line up the prongs, and then it pops right out.

Now to put your plexiglass back in, it’s just like before. There’s a little bit of a groove right here so you want to line it up and set it right down into the groove. Now there’s just a little bit of overhang on each side so you feel the edges and it’ll tell you if it’s set up right. Again, use the palm of your hands on the edge. Then you’re going to start with one side, pull it back toward you, and then you just start working it right down inside that groove. Now again, the big thing that you want to remember is don’t slide these back and forth because it will scratch. That’s how you put it back together.

So far in these signs we have:

Bearcat Ethel, Gilmore Lionhead, Gulf No Knox, Texaco Golden Oil, Texaco Motor Oil, Texaco Fire Chief
