Hey guys, it’s Travis at gaspumpheaven.com. Well, after doing the garage door opener, we actually got quite a few phone calls from you guys asking about globes and how the globes fit on our sconces. So we thought what we’d do is just put a real quick video together showing you the sconces, showing you the globes on the sconces and exactly how they fit.
Now the most common question is, do the globes fit sideways on the sconces? Some of them do and some of them don’t. Now this particular sconce, this is that low profile sconce that we put on. And these, you can fit the 13 or the 15 on it, but it can only fit this way. It can’t fit sideways. You can put it on a bit of an angle, but that’s as far as it’s going to go because it runs into the wall. So the 15 also fits on this and I’ve unscrewed it just so I can swap it out and show you guys. The 15 fits on this just the same. I just have it balanced up there. I didn’t screw it in. Now these don’t tilt as far to the sides because they’re a lot thicker. The 15’s are a lot thicker because it has this metal side on it. So that’s how the 13’s and the 15’s fit on the low profile sconce.
The other sconce we have is our big one, which allows you to put it sideways or put it this way on the sconce. And I’ve got one real similar to this. It’s actually our older style one hanging up on our wall. So let’s throw a couple in there and I want to show you guys exactly how these sconces are going to hold that 13 and 15 inch globe.
Now this is the other style sconce that stands out far from the wall. It holds my 15 and the reason I’m showing you this one, now this sconce is actually a closeout. I think we have a few of them left. So if you’re looking for a bargain, give us a call. But the reason I’m showing you this one lengthwise, it’s actually a quarter of an inch shorter than the ones that we sell now, which honestly they’re a lot cooler looking. They’re a lot more decorative and they look a lot more authentic. So I want to show you this and how everything sits on it because when you turn it sideways, you still have plenty of clearance. And I’m going to bring the camera around from the side just so you guys can see how the 13 and the 15 fits.
Okay, so now you can see how this thing fits sideways on this older style sconce. And remember, this sconce here actually sticks out a quarter of an inch further. So you’re going to have a quarter of an inch larger gap than what I’m going to show you right here. Now on the 15, there’s enough for me to slide my hand, the thickest part of my hand back there. So you probably have a half to maybe three quarter of an inch clearance. And with that new one, that’s going to give you three quarters to a full inch clearance from the wall for your 15 inch globe.
Now let’s throw on the 13 inch globe and show you how much clearance you have there. Okay, now here’s my 13 inch globe. And we’ll swing it around here so you can see it. Now you can tell there’s a lot of good clearance here. And you’re probably looking at about an inch and a half to two inches is what you’re going to have with that newer style sconce. So you can fit either globe on either of our sconces. But the short profile sconces, it’s only going to fit sideways. And with the larger sconces, you can fit it and twist it in any direction you want at all.
